Although ADSL is typical more secure than other Internet technologies, due to its point to point nature between your home and the exchange, there are some recommended precautions you should take when setting up you computer.
Turn off File and Print Sharing:
To turn off file and print sharing, click on Start, go to the Control Panel
and to the network that your ADSL connection runs on. This may be a network
card or a USB network interface. Click on "File and Print Sharing"
and then click remove.
Virus Scanning Software:
We strongly recommend that you have a virus scanner installed on all computers
that access the Internet. It is also very important that you keep your virus
scanner up to date with the latest patches.
